Adding Taxes

To add a new tax:
  1. Go to Settings on the home page
  2. Click Taxes found under General
  3. Click the Add Tax button.
  4. Select your country.
  5. Give a name for the tax under Tax Name.
  6. Enter your tax rate under Country Tax Rate.
To set up different taxes for individual states:
  1. Turn on State Tax Override.
  2. Select the corresponding state.
  3. Enter the name of the tax and its rate.
  4. Under Tax Type, choose whether you want to add this tax to the country tax, replace it, or compound on it. 
  • Select Add to Country Tax to add the state tax to the country tax.
  • Select Replace Country Tax to ignore the country tax and use the state tax instead.
  1. Click Save.
To set up different tax rates for particular categories:
  1. Turn on Category Tax Override.
  2. Select the corresponding category.
  3. Enter the name of the tax and its rate.
  4. Under Tax Type, choose whether you want to add this tax to the country tax or replace the country tax with it. 
  • Select Add to Country Tax to add the category tax to the country tax.
  • Select Instead of Country Tax to ignore the country tax and use the category tax instead.
  1. Click Save.

Note: If your prices are inclusive of taxes, turn on the Tax-Inclusive Prices toggle.

Editing Taxes

To edit a tax:
  1. Go to Settings on the home page.
  2. Click Taxes under General.
  3. Hover over the existing tax and click the Edit { } icon on the right.
  1. Click Save after you're done making changes.

Deleting Taxes

To delete a tax:
  1. Go to Settings on the home page.
  2. Click Taxes under General.
  3. Hover over the existing tax and click the Trash Bin {} icon on the right.
  1. Click OK in the confirmation pop-up.
