Price List

Price List enables you to set up a special price for selected group of premium customers, without applying any coupons. This special price can be set up two different ways.

Why do we need a price list?

Zoho Commerce offers Price List to encourage regular customers by providing them with discounted prices, which will eventually lead to the growth of your business. A price list can be associated only for member portal enabled customers.

Preliminary steps- Before you start:

There are two steps prior to setting up a Price List.

    1. Assign price list to all your customers individually, on the basis of different parameters like the frequency of purchase, amount of purchase made, etc.
    2. Define a Price book/ determine a price range / determine the range of discount to be offered to the various categories of customers.
How to enable the Price list:
  • Navigate to Settings --> Store Settings --> Preferences 

  • Enable the Price List toggle button under the Products Settings section.
How to create a Price List for your e-commerce store:
  • Go to Settings --> General --> Price list.

  • Click  Add Price List.

A notification will be displayed on the screen if have not turned on the 'Enable Price List' button.

Fill in the name of your Price List. The Price List can be added in two ways.

  • By marking up or down the product prices by a percentage.
  • By entering the price individually for each product.

Creating Price List by marking up or down the product prices by a percentage:

  1. Click the 'Mark up or mark down the product prices by a percentage' radio button to increase or decrease the product prices to any percentage that you mention.
  2. Click 'Enter price individually for each product' to mention the product prices separately for each and every product.
  3. Select Mark up in the Percentage drop down list to increase the price by any particular percentage. Select Mark down to decrease the product price to any percentage.
  4.  Select any one of these and mention the % of amount in the adjacent box.
  5.  Select any value from the round off drop down to determine the amount of addition to be made to the selected percentage. Select Never mind to retain the same value that you have mentioned in the percentage box.

    7.   Any extra information regarding the pricing can be mentioned in the Notes section. It can also be left empty.

  

     8.   Click Save.

   

A pop-up that says 'Your price list is created' is displayed on the right corner of the screen.

   

The price list you created will be displayed in the dashboard.

Creating Price List by entering the price individually for each product:

  1. Enter the product name, selling price and the custom price of the product that you intend to sell in a special price and click Save.
  2.  Click Add Price List on the top right corner to add more price lists to your store.
  3. Click the Show drop down to select the number of Price Lists you have created in your store.
  4. Click the Pencil icon in the price list to edit the details.
  5. Click the X mark in the Price List to delete your store.

Customer Module

Customer Module enables the user to create his own customers.

Note: Set tax for your region before you begin with the Customer Module.

You can create a customer using Customer Module in three different ways.

    1. Create your own customer using Guest ID. (By default the customers created through Zoho commerce module will be guest customers)
    2. Creating a customer using the first mail ID used post the sign up process.
    3. A customer will automatically be created as a guest, using the mail ID mentioned in the checkout step.

Before you start:

1.Set up taxes:

  • Go to Settings --> General --> Taxes.
  • Enter your regional GST identification number in the GST Identification Number box.
  • Click Save.

A pop-up that says Success appears on the bottom right corner of the screen.


2.Enable the Price List:

  • Navigate to Settings--> Store Settings --> Preferences 

  • Enable the Price List toggle button under the Products Settings section.
Note: For every Customer list created, an individual Price List will be displayed.

Note: Customers will be auto-added to the Customer Module once they place an order.
Click the customer name in the dashboard for a quick view of details. This page is not editable.

How to activate or inactivate a customer:
  • To inactivate a customer, click on the customer name.

  • Click Mark as inactive on the top right corner of the Quick details page.

  • Select Yes, mark inactive in the dialog box that appears.

  • A popup that says " The customer has been made inactive" appears on the bottom right corner of the screen.

  • Click close to go back to the Customer list dashboard.
An inactive customer is indicated using a Grey dot.
Note: This can be done to inactivate your customers for a particular amount of time. Inactivated customers cannot sign in directly.
  • To activate inactive customers, click on the customer name.

  • Click 'Mark as active' in the top right corner of the Quick details page.

  • Select Yes, mark active in the dialog box that appears.

  • A popup that says " The customer has been made active" appears on the bottom right corner of the screen.Click close to go back to the Customer list dashboard.

An active customer is indicated using a Green dot.
Note: Active customers can sign in directly using their credentials.
Filter:
Click the Filter icon on the top left corner of the screen to filter the customers according to your preference.

 

  • Select All Customers to view all your customers in your Customer module.

  • Choose Active Customers to view only the customers who are active. (i.e, green dot, easy sign in)

  • Select CRM Customers to view only the CRM integrated customers. (i.e, gained access through CRM integration)

  • Choose Inactive Customers to view only the customers who are inactive. (i.e, grey dot, cannot sign in for a particular time)

How to apply a Price List to a Customer :
  • Navigate to Settings --> Customers. Your list of customers will be displayed.

  • Click the pencil icon on the right corner of the desired customer to whom the Price List is to be associated.

  • Select the appropriate price list for this customer.

  • Click Save.
Note: Price List can be added only to the Member Portal Customers and not for the Guest customers.

A message that reads "Price lists don't work for guest customers" is displayed under the Price List and Remarks section when there is an attempt to a Price List for Guest customers.
