Inventory Tracking

Inventory can be tracked by adding either a batch number or a serial number:


Serial number is a device identifier number which is used for inventory tracking. These numbers are mostly used in the manufacturing unit.

 

Batch number is an identification number given to a group of products that have been manufactured at the same time. This is mostly used in food and medical industry.

Enable Tracking 
  1. Go to Settings > Preferences under Product Settings.

  2. To enable Serial number tracking, click the adjacent toggle.

  3. To enable Batch number tracking, clicking the adjacent toggle.

    Advanced Inventory Tracking

    Once you've enabled tracking, you'll find the Advanced Inventory Tracking option under Inventory Tracking while adding a product.

    Quantity Restriction

    With the quantity specification feature, you can restrict the maximum and minimum number of a product that can be included in an order. Minimum number needs to be fulfilled to proceed an order to checkout. Quantity of a product cannot exceed beyond maximum number provided here.

    Advanced Inventory Tracking

    Once you've enabled tracking, you'll find the Advanced Inventory Tracking option under Inventory Tracking while adding a product.

    Add Products with Serial Tracking
    1. Navigate to Products > Add Product and scroll down to the Inventory Tracking section. 
    2. Click the check box to enable inventory tracking for the product. 
    3. Enter the quantity of the product to be added.
    4. Enable Quantity Restriction if you want to set minimum and maximum quantity for placing an order.
    5. Provide minimum and maximum quantity.
    6. Enter your low stock limit if you want to be notified when your stock goes below this limit. 
    7. Under Advanced Inventory Tracking, select Serial Number Tracking
    8. Enter the serial numbers of the products in the text box. Make sure the serial numbers match the count mentioned above the box.
    Add Products with Batch Tracking
    1. Select Batch Tracking under Advanced Inventory Tracking.
    2. Enter your Batch Reference Number and Quantity to be added. You can use the batch reference number for internal reference. 
    3. Add your manufacturer batch number, manufactured date and expiration date if available.
    4. Click Add New Batch to add more batches.
    Disable Tracking
    • Go to Settings > Preferences > Product Settings. 
    • To disable Serial number tracking, switch off the adjacent toggle. 
    • To disable Batch number tracking, switch off the adjacent toggle.

    Note: Serial and batch tracking can only be disabled if no product has been added with a tracking option.
